Location: Bronx, NY or one of their locations in the Tri-State area
Compensation: $120,000-$170,000

This organization is a long‑established HVAC, geo-thermal company, specializing exclusively in private residential installations, replacements, and repairs. It operates as one of the oldest and largest HVAC service providers in its metropolitan region, with over a century of experience and a reputation for high‑touch service and complex home‑based HVAC projects.

Position Summary
The Assistant Controller supports the financial integrity and operational efficiency of the organization’s HVAC service business. This role holds full ownership of the P&L, maintains and reconciles the balance sheet, and acts as the primary financial point of contact (POC) for regional and field offices.

Key Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual P&L reporting.
• Maintain complete balance sheet ownership.
• Serve as the financial POC for regional offices and field teams.
• Oversee job-level costing for installations, replacements, maintenance plans, and repairs.
• Oversee GL integrity and reconciliations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis.
• Partner cross‑functionally across operations, sales, customer service, and project management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting experience in HVAC, construction, or field services.
• Strong GAAP knowledge.
• Demonstrated P&L and balance sheet ownership.
• Strong communication skills.
