Construction Controller

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity reporting directly to the CFO. The Controller will oversee the accounting operations of the company with a strong emphasis on revenue recognition, accounts receivable, job cost/percentage of completion accounting, and financial reporting accuracy.

Key Responsibilities of Controller:

  • Lead core accounting functions with a strong focus on AR, revenue recognition, job cost/percentage of completion accounting, and balance sheet integrity

  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting

  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements and perform detailed analytical review of results

  • Partner closely with operations to monitor project performance, margins, billing accuracy, and cash flow

  • Collaborate with the CFO on annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning

  • Strengthen internal controls and improve processes surrounding revenue, receivables, and reporting

  • Drive automation and modernization initiatives to increase efficiency and scalability

  • Support and help manage the annual audit process

  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support strategic growth initiatives

Supervisory Responsibilities of Controller:

  • Lead and develop the accounting team with an emphasis on AR and revenue cycle oversight

  • Build scalable processes and identify training opportunities to support continued company growth

Qualifications for Controller:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • CPA required

  • Public accounting experience required

  • 5–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility

  • Construction or manufacturing experience preferred

  • Strong understanding of percentage of completion accounting and revenue recognition

  • Proficiency in accounting software (Great Plains preferred) and Microsoft Office

  • Strong communication skills and leadership presence

Compensation & Benefits

  • $160k-$180k base salary
