Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Analyst to join our team. This role plays a key part in the budgeting and financial planning process and will work closely with department leadership to support accurate forecasting, reporting, and analysis. Key Responsibilities

Support the development, monitoring, and analysis of operating and capital budgets

Prepare budget reports, forecasts, and variance analyses for internal stakeholders

Collaborate with department leaders to track expenditures and identify trends

Assist with financial modeling and long-term planning initiatives

Ensure compliance with internal policies, union guidelines, and Town HR procedures

Support ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field

Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools

Ability to work effectively in a structured, process-driven environment

Prior experience in a municipal, public sector, or union environment is a plus
