Financial Analyst



Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Analyst to join our team. This role plays a key part in the budgeting and financial planning process and will work closely with department leadership to support accurate forecasting, reporting, and analysis. Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development, monitoring, and analysis of operating and capital budgets

  • Prepare budget reports, forecasts, and variance analyses for internal stakeholders

  • Collaborate with department leaders to track expenditures and identify trends

  • Assist with financial modeling and long-term planning initiatives

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, union guidelines, and Town HR procedures

  • Support ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field

  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools

  • Ability to work effectively in a structured, process-driven environment

  • Prior experience in a municipal, public sector, or union environment is a plus
