Key Responsibilities of the Junior Accountant

  • Oversee and manage the company’s check processing cycle

  • Prepare and review check runs, ensuring accuracy and proper approvals

  • Partner with internal departments to resolve payment discrepancies and missing documentation

  • Assist with ACH transactions, debit postings, and invoice processing

  • Help track and post cash activity and payments

  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and research variances

  • Contribute to month-end close by preparing entries and supporting schedules

  • Review transaction coding to maintain general ledger accuracy

  • Provide backup support for accounts receivable tasks as needed

  • Maintain professional written communication with internal stakeholders and external agencies


Qualifications for Junior Accountant Applicants

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required

  • 2–5 years of accounting experience with exposure to general ledger work

  • Strong Excel proficiency, including working with large datasets and functions like PivotTables and XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP

  • Comfortable in a dynamic environment where processes continue to evolve

  • Clear and professional written communication skills

  • Able to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented culture

  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check
